No one can deny that the events of the last 18 months have made us all have to adapt to working remotely.
At NDC we change training to ‘live broadcast’ – using Zoom, Teams and WebEx. It allowed every delegate to benefit from asking questions in a live environment and everyone had the opportunity to take part in group discussions and debates.
All our courses were recorded live with each module being placed on our secure online learning management portal. Thus enabling delegates to refer back to recorded sessions in a time that best suited them.
But now we are back in the ‘classroom’
Of course we can still undertake remote learning. But there’s no denying the beneficial impact of delegates being able to attend training sessions.
The biggest benefit of face-to-face training is human interaction. It allows attendees to raise queries in the moment. People also get to spend time with their peers. Sessions can be far more practical and collaborative and there is always an experienced tutor on hand.
In the right place
Organising training in a new setting – out of office – provides employees a break from their usual routine. There can often be too much of ‘Let’s do the training in our own offices’! The problem is that companies may not have considered the adequacy of their own facilities, but also the environment factor essential to ideal learning.
So while they may have reduced the investment portion of ROI by staying onsite, they also may have reduced the return by compromising the learning experience.
Which is why we choose Heywood House, in the heart of Wiltshire, to host our training.
Heywood House is a classic country estate transformed into a dedicated business hub. It has bags of history all in a beautiful setting.
It has good transport connections, yet is positioned in 30 acres of private grounds with its lake, gardens, and views of the surrounding hills. It’s a special place where attendees will feel relaxed and ready to learn.
